Los depósitos temporales pueden ser públicos, cuando sean habilitados para almacenar mercancías de cualquier persona, o privados, cuando solo pueden almacenar mercancías consignadas, en el documento de transporte, al titular de la habilitación.También son depósitos temporales: Los depósitos para los operadores de los regímenes de tráfico postal y para los operadores de envíos de entrega rápida o mensajería expresa; y Los depósitos transitorios.
