El acto de conferir a un militar la Cruz de Mateo" revestirá la mayor solemnidad posible. Un destacamento integrado por las tres (3) Fuerzas formará en uniforme de parada, el Presidente de la República pondrá personalmente sobre el pecho del agraciado la condecoración y en este mismo momento se harán salvas de artillería y las bandas tocarán el Himno Nacional.
