Origen . La Medalla "Servicios Distinguidos a la Inteligencia Naval", fue creada mediante el artículo 163 del Decreto 1816 de 2007, para estimular y premiar al personal que haya sobresalido por sus capacidades profesionales, técnicas y dedicación, al igual que a entidades oficiales, particulares y personal que haya prestado eminentes servicios en contribución de la Inteligencia Naval propendiendo por su desarrollo y proyección en la Armada Nacional.
