Son faltas graves de los notarios las siguientes: 1º Solicitar, recibir u ofrecer agasajos, préstamos, regalos o cualquier otra clase de lucros directa o indirectamente, en razón de su cargo o con ocasión de sus funciones. 2º Cobrar derechos mayores o menores que los autorizados en el arancel vigente. 3º Negarse a cumplir las orientaciones que la Superintendencia de Notariado y Registro imparta dentro del ámbito de sus atribuciones, en cuanto a la prestación del servicio. 4º Violar las normas sobre prohibiciones, impedimentos e incompatibilidades consagradas en el presente estatuto. 5º Por negligencia o descuido, afirmar hechos o circunstancia inexactas en el ejercicio de su funciones. 6º Negarse a ejercer sus funciones sin justa causa. 7º Dejar se asistir injustificadamente a la oficina, o cerrarla sin motivo legal o imitar indebidamente las horas de despacho al público.
