La República de Colombia exalta la memoria del político, diplomático, abogado, economista y catedrático doctor Augusto Ramírez Ocampo, con motivo del aniversario de su muerte ocurrida en la ciudad de Bogotá, D. C. el 14 de junio de 2011, quien fuera Alcalde Mayor de Bogotá, D. C., Canciller, Ministro de Estado, Constituyente, Representante personal del Secretario General de las Naciones Unidas, funcionario internacional, académico, gran defensor de los derechos humanos y líder de la paz y quien a lo largo de su carrera hizo una invaluable y generosa contribución a la vida y progreso de nuestra sociedad y de nuestro país.
