Cuando con posterioridad a la adjudicación de una Cruz de Segunda o de Tercera Clase, el militar agraciado haya ejecutado una acción distinguida que le de derecho a ser ascendido a la clase superior, podrá el Presidente de la República, mediante la apreciación de los hechos, decretar el ascenso siguiendo las formalidades establecidas en el Artículo 15 que antecede.
