En cualquier momento la Procuraduría General de la Nación podrá iniciar o asumir una investigación disciplinaria, caso en el cual el investigador deberá suspender las diligencias que estuviere adelantando y poner a disposición de la Procuraduría todos los documentos que sean pertinentes, dejando constancia de ello en el expediente, previa información al Presidente de la Empresa, Gerente Regional o Zonal según el caso. No obstante lo anterior, la entidad podrá hacer uso de la suspensión provisional del funcionario investigado, prevista en el artículo 143 del presente Decreto, e informará a la Procuraduría de este hecho.
