La República honra la memoria de don Alejandro Gutiérrez, animador espiritual de pueblo de Caldas, servidor excelente de la democracia y ciudadano eximio; declara que su fallecimiento constituye un verdadero duelo nacional, y recomienda a las generaciones del futuro el patrimonio de sus virtudes cívicas y de su austeridad y constancia para servir a la Patria, como un modelo de aplicación republicana y de actividad para el bien social.
