Centros Operativos Regionales. El Instituto tendrá ocho (8) Centros Operativos Regionales, para el desarrollo de programas y proyectos institucionales, mediante el aprovechamiento de la infraestructura de campo y laboratorio con que cuenta la entidad, ubicados en el territorio nacional, de acuerdo con las necesidades del servicio. Para el cumplimiento de sus funciones, los centros estarán conformados por los grupos internos de trabajo que sean necesarios para el logro de los objetivos y para el cumplimiento de las diferentes finalidades de los programas y proyectos institucionales.
