La República honra la memoria de Francisco de P. Rendón, distinguido literato, miembro que fue de la honorable Cámara de Representantes y Diputado a la Asamblea de Antioquia, y en honor a su memoria se ordena la construcción de un Centró de Protección Infantil que llevara su nombre, en la ciudad de Santo Domingo (Antioquia), cuna del escritor.
