Artículo tercero. El Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística -DANE- suministrará las cifras de población que corresponden a cada uno de los municipios y corregimientos de las Intendencias y Comisarías a que pertenecen. En los casos de municipios y corregimientos creados con posterioridad a la realización del último censo legalmente aprobado, se tomará en cuenta la población que sirvió de base para su creación, segregada de la correspondiente a la entidad territorial de la cual formaba parte.
