Corresponde a la División de Exploración y Contratos desarrollar las siguientes funciones

a)

Supervisar la exploración geológica, geofisica y de perforación en todo el territorio nacional;

b)

Estudiar, desde el putno de vista técnico, las propuestas de contratos y aportes sobre exploración y explotación de hidrocarburos de propiedad nacional;

c)

Realizar los estudios geológicos y geofisicos que permitan adelantar la exploración sistemática de las cuencas sedimentarias.
