Para obtener el título de Doctor en Filosofía y Letras es necesario haber ganado, además de los cursos indispensables para el Bachillerato, los siguientes: Prosodia latina, primer curso de griego, Estética, segundo curso de griego, Historia de la literatura latina, Didáctica, Historia de la literatura castellana e Historia de la Filosofía.
