El Documento de Viaje podría ser expedido con una validez hasta de tres (3) años, contados a partir de la fecha de su expedición y podrá ser revalidado por un período igual por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores División de Visas. Igualmente, podrá ser revalidado por una sola vez por las Misiones Diplomáticas y las Oficinas Consulares de la República, previa autorización del Ministerio, caso en el cual la revalidación no podrá exceder de seis (6) meses.
