El Procurador Delegado en lo civil reemplazará al Procurador General en caso de falta temporal; desempeña las funciones de Secretario de la Procuraduría, firma la correspondencia ordinaria de la oficina, y es el Jefe de la Sección de Negocios Civiles.

Bajo la dirección del Procurador General, comparece ante la Corte Suprema de Justicia en todos los negocios civiles atribuidos por la ley al Procurador, siempre que éste no deba comparecer por sí de acuerdo con el artículo 3° de esta Ley; desempeña, además, todas las funciones que especialmente le asignen los reglamentos de la oficina.
