Cuando el instrumento ha sido rechazado en manos de un agente, éste puede dar la noticia a las partes obligadas o a su principal.

Si da la noticia a su principal, debe hacerlo dentro del mismo tiempo que lo hiciera si fuera el tenedor y el principal, al recibo de tal noticia, tiene el mismo tiempo para darla que si el agente hubiera sido un tenedor por su propia cuenta.
