Para ser admitido en clase de alumno militar, se requiero: primero ser colombiano; segundo, haber cumplido catorce años i no pasar de veinte; tercero, haber leer i escribir correctamente i traducir el francés o el inglés; i cuarto, tener nociones elementales de aritmética, áljebra i jeometría. La suficiencia en estas materias debe acreditarse en un exámen practicado por los profesores del establecimiento.
