ARTICULO 9o . Consejo Científico y Técnico. - El Consejo Científico y Técnico es un organismo de coordinación y asesoría en las áreas científicas y técnicas de la Junta Directiva y de la Dirección General. El Consejo estará compuesto por siete miembros, que no serán funcionarios del Instituto, designados por la Junta Directiva y escogidos entre miembros prestantes de la Comunidad Científica Nacional con experiencia en investigación o docencia universitaria. El Subdirector del área de Investigación será secretario del Consejo.
