Articulación con los sistemas ambientales internacionales. El Invemar dará apoyo al Ministerio de Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible para lograr el desarrollo de la política ambiental internacional. Especialmente, deberá realizar estudios e investigaciones científicas para conocer la naturaleza y sus procesos, con el fin de establecer criterios y proponer modelos que permitan estudiar el cambio global y conocer las alteraciones particulares del medioambiente en el territorio colombiano, de acuerdo con su objeto.
