Artículo tercero. Los funcionarios a que se refieren los dos artículos anteriores, una vez vencido su período, continuarán en ejercicio de sus cargos en calidad de interinos mientras no sean reemplazados, suspendidos en el ejercicio de sus destinos, o destituidos por autoridad competente, en los casos y con las formalidades que determinan la Constitución y las leyes.
