En el terreno destinado al cultivo en común o por cuenta del Estado, se harán plantaciones o sementeras de vegetales propios del clima y calidad del suelo y que en corto tiempo den fruto para la alimentación de la Colonia, como plátano, yuca, arracacha, maíz, frijoles, arroz, caña de azúcar, etc. Se hará un jardín de aclimatación de árboles y plantas útiles, o sea una quinta normal. Se pueden hacer también algunos potreros de pastos apropiados para la cría y ceba de ganado.
