La renuncia del alcalde, la licencia o el permiso para separarse transitoriamente del cargo, la aceptará o concederá el Gobernador respectivo o el Presidente de la República en el caso del Distrito Capital de Bogotá. Las incapacidades médicas serán certificadas por la respectiva Entidad Promotora de Salud a la que se encuentre afiliado el mandatario local.
