Artículo tercero. El Director General, al que corresponde el grado 17 de la escala de sueldos, responderá ante el Ministro en cuanto a la realización de la labor propia de las Secretarías Administrativas y Técnicas, y cumplirá las siguientes funciones específicas

Desarrollar en nombre del Ministro la política de fomento agropecuario a través de las distintas dependencias directas e indirectas del Ministerio.

Actuar como Secretario del Consejo Nacional Agropecuario.

Coordinar todas las actividades relacionadas con el desarrollo y fomento agropecuario en el país.

Vigilar la debida ejecución del presupuesto.
