El Banco de Programas tiene como misión, desarrollar los temas y líneas de investigación e información geocientífica, mineroambiental, nuclear e institucional, que sean fundamentales para contribuir de manera eficiente a la gestión del desarrollo económico y social del país y en particular que permita evaluar los logros y realizaciones institucionales en relación con algún sector de la actividad científica, tecnológica, económica o social del país.
