Para ascender a Teniente-Coronel o su equivalente, es requisito indispensable haber hecho con buenos resultados los estudios superiores en la Escuela Superior de Guerra o en las escuelas colombianas de armas o servicios, y haber servido por lo menos seis (6) meses en las Intendencias o Comisarías.

Queda así sustituido el inciso del artículo 18 de la Ley 2ª de 1945.
