Establécese el recurso de casación en asuntos criminales, contra las sentencias definitivas que pronuncien en última instancia los Tribunales Superiores de Distrito Judicial y de las cuales resulte al reo la imposición de una pena que sea o exceda de seis años de presidio, reclusión o prisión.
