Si las cuentas no fueren presentadas dentro del plazo señalado en esta Ley, o dentro del plazo adicional que otorgue el Contralor General, deberá este solicitar del funcionario a quien corresponda proveer el puesto, la inmediata suspensión del empleado responsable, y dicho funcionario estará en el deber de suspender al empleado mientras se investiga si hubo razón justificada de tal demora.
