Cuando se trate de la expedición de certificados judiciales a nacionales colombianos, que se encuentren fuera del país, deberá solicitarse personalmente por el interesado a través de la respectiva autoridad consular del lugar donde se encuentre el peticionario, previo cumplimiento de los requisitos establecidos para dichos trámites.
