Art. 198. La Dirección de tabacos comparará las partidas de cargo que esprese el estado de la tesorería general, con las que se hayan datado los administradores del ramo por cantidades remitidas a aquella oficina; i en caso de que haya alguna falta, demora, u otro reparo, dictará las ordenes de su resorte para examinar el hecho, i exijir si fuere necesario, la responsabilidad de los empleados morosos o culpables.
