Las viadas o huérfanos, i en defecto de éstos, los padres de los individuos muertos en defensa de las instituciones, serán asimilados al empleo militar de éstos, hasta el grado de Subteniente inclusive, para el goce del respectivo sueldo conforme a la lei, siempre que comprueben no tener otros medios de subsistencia. Las pensiones de los otros grados se arreglarán a lo que dispongan las leyes vijentes sobre la materia, i a los actos especiales sobre recompensas.
