Artículo segundo. En desarrollo de su misión tendrá las siguientes funciones

Recomendar al Gobierno Nacional la política general del país en materia de alimentación y nutrición, para que ésta se armonice con los objetivos y metas generales de desarrollo.

Recomendar a los distintos organismos de la Rama Ejecutiva del Poder Público, las medidas necesarias para integrar los planes y programas de salud, educación, producción y fomento, relacionados con la alimentación y la nutrición de la población colombiana.
