º . En el caso de que el adquirente de un nuevo vehículo de carga, por cualquier causa, no realice inmediatamente la reposición a que está obligado, podrá ingresar el automotor al servicio público prestando a favor del Ministerio de Transporte una caución consistente en garantía bancaria o mediante póliza de seguros expedida por una compañía del ramo debidamente habilitada, vigente en ambos casos por un término de dieciocho (18) meses. Dicha caución deberá ser presentada para su aprobación ante el Ministerio de Transporte.
