Las escuelas artesanas les están destinadas a proporcionar a los jóvenes mayores de 15 años, cultura general acelerada, en dos años, equivalente a la rama de educación primaria, simultáneamente con la capacitación en un oficio o profesión. Paralelamente al proceso de enseñanza, estas escuelas producen bienes de uso, que les permite obtener ingresos económicos para financiar parcialmente sus programas.
