El Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas, SINCHI. El Instituto Amazónico de Investigaciones Científicas, SINCHI, transformado de la Corporación Colombiana para la Amazonia, Araracuara, COA, se organizará como una corporación civil, sin animo de lucro, de carácter público, sometida a las reglas del derecho privado, vinculada al Ministerio del Medio Ambiente, con autonomía administrativa, personería jurídica y patrimonio propio, organizada en los términos establecidos por la Ley 29 de 1990 y el Decreto 393 de 1991.
