La Nación hace un reconocimiento al municipio de Abejorral, Antioquia, por ser municipio agrícola, productor de café, maíz, plátano, papa y aguacate, y artesano, por la elaboración de canastas de bejuco, producto tradicional y distintivo de su economía, así como por ser destacada cuna de ilustres personajes de la historia del país, lo que le ha valido el calificativo de “Ciudad de los Cien Señores”.
