Los medios para encauzar la disciplina pueden ser correctivos y sancionatorios.

Son medios correctivos aquellos que se utilizan para mantener la disciplina. Medios sancionatorios son las sanciones legalmente impuestas que tienen como finalidad el restablecimiento de la disciplina.
