La autoridad policiva más inmediata al respectivo lugar, quien actuará de oficio o a petición de parte interesada, hará efectivos los hechos que consagra el artículo 996 del Código Civil. La regla de la misma disposición se aplicará cuando se trate de cauce artificial.
