Las funciones y atribuciones del Comandante General de las Fuerzas Militares, en lo relacionado a la Justicia militar, de que trata el artículo 4° del Decreto número 835 de 1951, son todas aquellas que hasta hoy hayan sido asignadas, en forma permanente y temporal, al Jefe del Estado Mayor General por leyes, decretos- leyes y simples decretos del Órgano Ejecutivo.
