La pena de arresto que establecen para el delito de injuria los artículos 337 y 338 del Código Penal podrá conmutarse, en todo o en parte, a solicitud del procesado, por una sanción pecuniaria de dos pesos por cada día, a favor de la persona injuriada, sin perjuicio de la indemnización civil a que haya lugar.
