Una misma falta solamente puede ser sancionada una sola vez, y por un mismo superior. Esto no excluye el arresto preventivo mientras el superior a quien corresponda determine lo pertinente, ni la intervención del superior inmediato de aquel que ha impuesto la sanción, cuando considere que hay necesidad de modificarla, ni la constitución de Tribunal Disciplinario o de Honor cuando hubiere lugar a ello dada la trascendencia y gravedad comprobada de la falta.
