Ascenso de Oficiales y Suboficiales de Reserva. Los Oficiales y Suboficiales de la Reserva que hayan adquirido tal calidad podrán ascender dentro de ella hasta el grado de Capitán o Teniente de Navío; Sargento Viceprimero, Suboficial Primero, o Suboficial Técnico Primero, de conformidad con reglamentación que expida el Gobierno Nacional.

Parágrafo

Los Oficiales Mercantes egresados de la Escuela Naval de Cadetes "Almirante Padilla" que hayan aprobado el curso correspondiente para ascenso podrán optar los siguientes grados en la reserva así: Tercer Oficial o Tercer Ingeniero como Teniente de Corbeta de Reserva. Segundo Oficial o Segundo Ingeniero como Teniente de Fragata de Reserva Primer Oficial o Primer Ingeniero como Teniente de Navío de Reserva. Capitán de Altura o Ingeniero Jefe como Capitán de Corbeta de Reserva.
