La Sala Plena de la Corte Suprema de Justicia conoce, en ú nica instancia, de los procesos por delitos cometidos por el Presidente de la República, los Ministros del Despacho, Magistrados de la Corte Suprem a de Justicia, Magistrados del Consejo de Estado, Magistrados del Consejo Superior de la Judicatura, Magistrados de la Corte Electoral, Procurador General de la Nación, Fiscal General de la Nación, Contralor General de la República y Registrador del Estado Civil. En estos casos actuará como po nente un Magistrado de la Sala Penal.
