Art. 9º Los descuentos y retiros se harán de todo el sueldo, aunque esté embargada alguna parte, y en la misma moneda en que se pague. La parte embargada de un sueldo se computará sobre éste, después de hecho el descuento. Cuando se anticipe un sueldo militar ó civil, el descuento no se hará de la anticipación sino de los sueldos íntegros y posteriores, con cuyas quintas partes se haya de pagar la anticipación.
