Entiéndese por aeronaves todos los aparatos cautivos o libres, destinados a sostenerse en la atmósfera o a viajar por ella, sea que utilicen un gas menos pesado que el aire, como los globos y dirigibles, o que tengan medios mecánicos de propulsión como los aviones, comprendiendo en esta denominación los aeroplanos, hidroaviones, anfibios o botes volantes, autogiros, etc.
