La respectiva entidad de previsión social prestará asistencia médica por maternidad a la esposa o compañera permanente del afiliado y asistencia pediátrica a los hijos de estas hasta los seis meses de edad, mediante el pago de tarifas económicas especiales. Esta obligación se irá haciendo efectiva progresivamente, teniendo en cuenta los medios y el personal disponibles y conforme a las disposiciones que dicte el Gobierno.
