A partir del primero (1º) de enero del año 2009 regirá como Salario Mínimo Legal Mensual para los trabajadores de los sectores urbano y rural la suma equivalente al salario mínimo definido por el Decreto 4965 de 27 de diciembre de 2007, incrementado en el índice de Precios al Consumidor calculado entre el 1º de enero y el 31 de diciembre de 2008 y certificado por el Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística - DANE. En caso de que el resultado contenga una fracción en centavos o en pesos, tal monto será aproximado a la centena superior siguiente.
