La República de Colombia exalta la memoria del Presidente Carlos Lleras Restrepo al cumplirse el primer centenario de su nacimiento, ocurrido el 12 de abril del año 1908, a quien fuera símbolo de la autoridad presidencial, arquitecto de nuestra Administración Pública, gestor de la Reforma Constitucional de 1968, guardián de la majestad del Estado e impulsor decidido de una política económica vigorosa a favor del crecimiento con justicia social.
