La Medalla "Servicios Distinguidos en Orden Público" se conferirá a solicitud del Comandante directo, a órdenes del cual se encuentren los candidatos, quien remitirá al Comando del Ejército, la Armada o la Fuerza Aérea, para su estudio y resolución, los documentos comprobatorios de que dichos candidatos han cumplido los requisitos exigidos.
