La Nación se asocia a la conmemoración de los 450 años de la fundación de la ciudad de Buenaventura, que se cumplirá el 14 de julio de 1990, honra y exalta la trascendencia histórica y el papel desempeñado por la ciudad en la vida social y en su desarrollo económico, rinde tributo y admiración a sus fundadores Juan de Ladrilleros y Pascual de Andagoya, y resalta las virtudes de sus habitantes.
