ARTICULO 58 . La Dirección General Marítima y Portuaria podrá habilitar Capitanes y Oficiales de Puente Regionales de Categoría "B" restringida, para desempeñar los respectivos cargos en buques hasta de 4.000 T.R.B. para el cual están facultados a bordo de buques que efectúen navegación de altura a las islas de San Andrés y Providencia u otras islas colombianas situadas a más de 12 millas de la Costa Continental, si previamente acreditan haber efectuado a satisfacción, un curso adecuado de navegación astronómica, aceptado por dicha autoridad.
